Terms of use
The short version. Have fun and be kind. You're responsible for the questions, photos and names you put on a shared screen. You can cancel a subscription at any time from wherever you bought it. Nothing here takes away the rights your local consumer law gives you.
1. Who we are
These terms are an agreement between you and AppFleet (“we”, “us”), who runs Quizzo: the apps for iPhone, iPad and Android, and the website at quizzoria.com. By using Quizzo you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. Questions? Email umer@appfleet.org.
2. Using Quizzo
Anyone can join a quiz as a player, without an account. To sign in as a host or to buy anything, you must be an adult, or have permission from a parent or guardian where your local law requires it. If you host for a business, such as a bar, restaurant, school or company, you confirm you're allowed to accept these terms for it.
3. Your account
Keep your sign-in email secure. Anyone who can read it can sign in as you. Tell us at once if you think someone else has used your account. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.
4. What you put on the screen
Hosts can write their own questions and add photos. Players choose team names. You're responsible for what you add, and you confirm you have the right to use it. Don't use Quizzo to share anything that:
- is illegal, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit or violent
- infringes someone else's rights, such as copyright, trademarks or privacy
- contains malware, spam or attempts to break or overload the service
You keep ownership of your content. You give us permission to store it, process it and show it to the people in your room, only so we can run your quiz. We can remove content or close a room that breaks these rules.
5. Our content
The Quizzo questions, quizzes, designs, sounds and software belong to us or our licensors. You may use them to host and play quizzes, at home or at a venue, including events you charge for. You may not copy, sell, scrape or republish the question library, or use it to train or build another product.
6. Plans, payments and cancelling
- Free: a limited number of players and ready-made quizzes, with a small Quizzo message on the big screen between rounds.
- Host Pro and Venue are subscriptions. They renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid the next charge. Cancelling stops future renewals, and you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Packs, such as the Christmas Pack, are one-off purchases you keep.
- Where you pay:
- In the iPhone or iPad app, you pay Apple. Manage or cancel in your Apple ID's Subscriptions settings.
- In the Android app, you pay Google Play. Manage or cancel in Play Store › Payments & subscriptions.
- On the web, you pay Paddle.com, our reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle's buyer terms also apply, and Paddle handles refunds and invoices.
- Prices are shown before you buy and may include tax. If we change the price of a subscription, we'll tell you in advance, and the new price applies from your next renewal. You can cancel before it does.
- Refunds: refunds follow the policy of the store or of Paddle, as well as your legal rights. In the EU, UK and some other countries, you can normally withdraw from an online purchase within 14 days. When you start using digital content straight away, you agree to that and accept that the right to withdraw ends for that content, as the law allows.
7. The service
We work hard to keep Quizzo running and the questions accurate. Even so, Quizzo is a live online service. Rooms can drop, and the occasional answer may be wrong or out of date. Report a question from the reveal screen and we'll check it. We may change, add or remove features. If we stop a paid feature you've paid for, we'll give you a fair refund for the unused part.
8. Liability
Quizzo is provided “as is”, to the extent the law allows. We aren't liable for:
- indirect losses
- lost profits
- problems caused by your internet connection or devices
- a night that didn't go to plan
Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or £50 / €50 / US$50 if that's more.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under consumer protection laws that apply to you.
9. Ending these terms
You can stop using Quizzo at any time. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms. If we do, we'll tell you why, unless the law stops us.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add features or the law changes. We'll update the date at the top, and we'll tell hosts in the app about important changes before they take effect. If you don't agree with a change, you can stop using Quizzo and cancel any subscription.
11. Your local law
Quizzo is used all over the world, so these terms are written to work alongside the law where you live.
If you're a consumer, you keep every protection that the law of the country where you live gives you and that can't be waived by contract. You can bring a claim in the courts where you live. EU consumers can also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
If you use Quizzo for a business, we'll both first try to resolve any dispute in good faith by email before going to court.
If any part of these terms can't be enforced where you are, the rest still applies.
12. Apple App Store
If you downloaded Quizzo from the Apple App Store, these extra terms apply:
- These terms are between you and AppFleet, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for Quizzo, its content, maintenance, support or any claims about it, including product liability, legal compliance and intellectual property claims.
- If Quizzo fails to meet a warranty that applies, you can tell Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. Apple has no other warranty obligation.
- You confirm you're not in a country under a US government embargo, and not on a US list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them.
